REGISTRATION AND PRE-COURSE INSTRUCTIONS

  • All delegates to be registered on the course registration form

  • All delegates to be advised of the following
    - Fire procedure
    - Toilets and welfare
    - A Pre-Requisite for this course of Senior First Aid or equivalent is needed to gain a Statement of Attainment.

This Module is designed as an enhancement of Module CS01 and CS02 and is only carried out when delegates have successfully completed those modules. SpanSet recommend Nationally Accredited Work Safely at Heights prior to the commencement of this course.

INTRODUCTION
The course is designed to provide;

  • A practical enhancement to Modules CS01 and CS02 giving delegates a better understanding of Confined Space Vertical rescue techniques that can be undertaken during emergency situations.

  • This course is designed for those persons required to work in confined space whose main duties include: Standby personnel, emergency response teams or team leadership.

COURSE SYLLABUS
Theory
In addition to the theory elements of Module CS01 the following topics will be emphasized

  • Mechanical Advantage

  • Stretcher Operations

  • Anchorage and Angle Loading

  • Vertical Rescue techniques

  • Casualty management

COURSE SYLLABUS
Practical
The following topics will also be covered

  • Knots

  • Rescue techniques

  • Building Hauling systems vertical & horizontal

  • Stretcher operations

COURSE SUMMARY

  • In addition to the test carried out in Module CS01 all delegates will be monitored by the trainer throughout the practical sessions. Any concerns will be addressed by delegate and trainer on a continual basis.

  • Delegates to carry out a 40 question multiple choice test of key points

  • Summarize the topics covered during the course

  • Issue course feedback forms

  • Thank the delegates for attending
