  • All delegates to be registered on the course registration form.

  • All delegates to be advised of the following
    • Fire procedure
    • Toilets and welfare

This module has a nationally accredited outcome and is only gained when delegates have successfully completed this module. Delegates must have successfully completed a nationally accredited working at heights course as a prerequisite
to Module 08

INTRODUCTION
The course is designed to provide;

  • A theoretical and practical training module that provides comprehensive learning materials for those persons responsible for detailed periodic inspections of height
    safety equipment.

  • Assistance to trainees in setting up recording systems for the equipment and carrying out periodic inspections throughout the life of a number of items of equipment.

  • The illustration of strengths and weaknesses of various products and materials.

COURSE SYLLABUS
Theory
The theory elements of this module will include topics such as:

  • Completing inspection records

  • Inspecting equipment and recording the findings

  • Monitoring the continual degradation of items of equipment and assessing the point at which to withdraw items from service

  • Processes for quarantining equipment

  • Processes for investigating the effects of contaminants and the details required for returning to service

COURSE SYLLABUS
Practical
In addition to the theory elements this module has a number of practical elements to be completed by the candidate;

  1. Set up an equipment register

  2. Inspect and record damaged samples of height safety equipment

COURSE SUMMARY

  • All delegates will be monitored by the trainer throughout the practical sessions. Any concerns will be addressed by delegate and trainer on a continual basis.

  • Throughout the course trainees will have completed a logging system for a range of equipment, this will be assessed by the trainer and the trainees will retain this as an example for their records.

  • Summarise the topics covered during the course.

  • Issue course feedback forms.

  • Thank the delegates for attending.

  • ID card for all delegates (SpanSet recommend retraining every 3 years)
